ACCESSIBILITY

Croftwood Cottage was home to Andy’s parents and was adapted  over the years to facilitate movement around the house for Andy’s dad who had difficulty with his mobility.

A key motive behind Andy and Laura’s plan in developing Croftwood for short-let holidays was to ensure that all of the recent refurbishment and modernisation within the house would retain the accessibility features to cater adequately for any guest with mobility issues. This we have tried to do and very much hope Croftwood will be comfortable and enjoyed by all those who choose to visit and in particular be suitable for fulfilling the needs of both able and less-able guests.

Level Access

Croftwood Cottage is all on one level and is facilitated, for those who are less able, with ramp access to the front of the property, and level access to the decking area at the rear of the cottage.

Grab rail

Grab Rails

Grab rails are mounted in various areas throughout the property, including the main bedroom and the bathroom.

Wet Room

The bathroom at Croftwood Cottage is, in fact, a wet room. Accessible from the hallway and the bedroom, there is ample space for a wheelchair to pass through the room. A wheeled shower chair is available on request to ease showering.

Accessible Toilet

Closomat WC combines the functions of a toilet, a bidet and a drier in one easy to use unit

Perching Stool

Available on request for bathroom use to reduce need for standing whilst washing or shaving

All Abilities Path

Recently completed, “The Capercaillie Trail” is a 1.4km all abilities path situated in the pine forest immediately behind the cottage and is wholly suitable for wheelchair use
